In June it became eight years since I opened my own salon in Königswinter. That is not a round anniversary, and so it was not a loud day either. But it is a good moment to look back once — and to say thank you.
What has stayed over eight years
Much has changed in that time: colour techniques have become gentler, lightening more precise, and whatever passes through the salons as a trend changes every season anyway. I keep training regularly so as to handle it all skilfully — that is part of the craft.
What has stayed is the reason I began back then: the calm. Here you may arrive, switch off and let your mind wander for a few hours — confidential, unobtrusive, with no glancing at the clock. Eight years on I know the sums work out: not because a great many people sit here in a single day, but because so many come back.
Thank you for coming back
A salon like this one does not live on passing trade. It lives on someone calling again after months — and on being recommended to others. That is exactly what has happened over the past eight years, and I know it is not something to take for granted.
So, simply, at this point: thank you. For your trust, for your patience on the days when a colour took longer, and for every conversation in this chair.
We wish you a lovely late summer.
